Canola is starting to bloom pretty good in this part of the world and there is a lot of it. Took the drone up for a few pictures this morning and one turned into
a jigsaw puzzle.

I havent ever grown Canola myself, but some of my neighbors try it now and then. I took this picture this past May 22 of a field in full bloom, which we were passing by.

So how can there be such a time difference between when the crop in Ontario is in bloom as compared to your crop in Saskatchewan? Again what I know about a Canola crop, I could easily write on the head of a pin.

That must be fall seeded "winter canola" you pictured there in May. Ours is mostly still in the bag or the air seeder tank in May. In fact the fields in my picture were likely planted about the same day you took the picture of the blooming canola. Nobody plants it in the fall as it would not survive the winter.

I'll take the Dodge .... the farmers can have the Canola. Field here are in full bloom this week, just outsde of Edmonton.

(quoted from post at 12:55:59 07/07/23) What herbicide do you use on canola?
Up til this year I have always used Roundup or equivalent glyphosate. Due to the appearance of roundup resistant Kochia I have had to switch to growing a Liberty link canola which takes a different type herbicide (Liberty). Its looking good so far. And hopefully will keep the RR Kochia population down.

(quoted from post at 14:42:30 07/07/23) I don't mean to hijack your thread but what do you have for a drone? We are thinking about one. Thanks Mike
Hi Mike. Its the DJI Mavic Air 2 and I'd recommend it to anyone. It has taken some hard hits and crashes and survived pretty well up until last fall. Now the camera stabilization is off a bit and sometimes the video will be blurry or the horizon tilted.

Just a quick note on the drone. My wife bought a Mini 3 Pro. Just got it and I think is going to have fun with it. Thanks for the advice. Mike

I read a few reviews on that one and it looks like a good choice.
