Wife did well in PT yesterday. Not in as much pain. Monday, A.M., my son (came up from N.C.!) and I put in an elevated height toilet and lowered the bed to make it easier on her. Our daughter was with her most of the day, picked up some assistance items for use at home. She will come home sometime Tuesday. God is good!! Thanks for prayers and thoughts.

When I had mine done, we put risers under the sofa where I was going to spend most of my recuperation time - so it was easier to get on and off without violating the hip restriction on bending. Worked so well that we left them there permanently. You will also want a bathtub seat - I got one that was actually a chair, rather than the slightly curved one with no sides. The chair is more stable to get on and off.

Good luck!

The hospital got us a walker through the insurance for $8. I put safety rails on the toilet. My baby sister has a bedside commode, and slide into the tub seat. She goes home today!! Physical Therapy folks will be coming by the house, will have to cage or lock the the dog in a room!! Thanks, folks, for all the support. Next thing for her is the left knee, damaged at Myrtle Beach in 06.

Grab bars are a good thing too.
Next to or in front of toilet, at entry of bathtub, etc.

I installed some when my 90 year old Dad visited and left there.
Now his 30 year younger son uses them.
