2 of my 80 year old friend's tractors

My friend up on the mountain will be 81 in a week.
These are his JD L and LA.
We rebuilt the engine in his L this past winter.
It was his Dad's tractor.
It will fire up with one pull on the hand crank.
It has a Hercules engine.
We think it is a 1938 model.
He has been cultivating his garden with it.

The other is an LA he bought about a year ago and it will fire up with about 2 pulls on the crank.

L in front in first photo and LA behind it.

Now Larry will want one!
My uncle had one, was his firewood getter. Would bring it to the farm in the back of his pickup.

Well, Grandpa is a good friend and I know he enjoys his Cubs.
I am a 2 cylinder man like you are.
We just like to kid each other sometimes.
And I can laugh at myself, too.
My 80 year old friend also has some Cubs, but the JD's are his favorite.
How is your project tractor doing?

I was intending it to be some friendly Green/Red banter. Sorry if I offended anyone.

As for as how my B is going, I'm sorry I haven't been posting updates. I've just been really busy working on it and finding odd jobs to earn money(not too bad at it either). Anyway, I've gotten some parts via Sleufoot, who has loaned me the money to buy them from Don Dufner. They are a set of NOS pistons, NOS rings, good connecting rods, a seat platform, a good upper water pipe, and a shutter control rod. I also have been email back and forth with the vice president of Titian-International and it sound as if I may get a set of 11.2-38 Hi-Power lugs donated to the project (my age sure comes in handy sometimes, huh?). So that's what I've been up to lately. That and trying to get the hubs of the rear wheels and the crank withdrawn.
