they nested in my timber last year, they have been cruising my creek about 10 ft off the water. them birds are huge!

You don't usually see them around buildings/people. You must be tasty looking. How do you like your Shivers, I've had mine over 560 years, love it.

When the neighbor raised pigs, we saw lots of eagles. You would see one setting in our field from time to time that was the size of a 30 gallon drum. They are huge! Another neighbor took me over by Copperas Creek and showed me an eagles nest in a tree, ya could have parked a Volkswagon in it!

Our Eagles have left or will very soon headed north.

In the 70's there were 3 or 4 known nesting pairs of Eagles in Louisiana.
Today we have over 600 active nest sites.
Only Florida has more nest sites.

They arrive every fall; nest over the winter; and leave late spring.
With radio tracking they have tracked our nesting pairs over 1000 miles well into Canada during the summer.

i had a pair settle in a dead hackberry tree in my yard. several years they stayed there when heading north or south. they set up in the tree n hunt then at dusk fly to the creek south of me half mile then west a quarter to a huge nest they built.
then came wind towers . aint stayed here since
down at cassville mo at roaring river state park they are thick huge supply of fish there. its about 40 miles south of me to roaring river

I think it was Ben Franklin that wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird. Can you imagine eating eagles instead of turkeys?

Some friends had a large eagle nest on top of an old snag in their field, it toppled in a wind storm one night, They found 13 or 14 pet collars in the debris of the nest.

I hate to say it but you are better off to get rid of them if you can safely get away with it. Small game is all gone anywhere near a nest.

We have a nest down the road that has been there over 7 years. Before the leaves filled out this spring I counted five heads sticking out of the top . I have an albino thats been in and out since Christmas. We saw him again last Sunday.

A eagles nest will get as big as the tree they are in can support.
They add to the nest every year.
We have some nest that are built in steel electric wire towers out over open water.
Like another poster said.. You could park a small car in the nest they are so big.
