Repairing fel bucket

I purchased a used tractor with a fel bucket that is rusted through in areas that water sat in it.I need to know what kind of steel these buckets are usually made of so I can replace the affected area?I plan to cut out and weld in new steel

It is just mild steel. Go to a local fabricator and get a piece.likely 3/16 thick. Lay it on the bottom of the bucket and draw around with soap stone and carefully cut away the old material and weld into place. Be careful to remove all weak metal. I have done many

The bucket on my 750 was so worn out, I cut the mounting brackets off the old one and had my steel supplier roll me a new one, then welded it all up.

Mother Deere could only find one and it was halfway across the country. Got priced out of that option right off!

I had similar issue on Duel loader I bought several years ago. I got a piece of metal for bottom and a friend had a cutting edge off of something that I welded to the front of the bucket

If you have time to work with a bit find a bucket at an auction and buy then move your brackets to it. I did that with our loader when the bucket rusted out at each end after 3or 4 new cutting edges had been welded in to it. Rest of bucket was getting pretty poor shape.
