Well, I had [i:1f3cf9942b]planned[/i:1f3cf9942b] on making this a 3-day short story focusing on the life of many WWII soldiers, but represented here with tractors. Sadly, I was not feeling well Saturday and completely missed that it was supposed to be the first of this 3-day journey. So here are the final 2 segments squeezed in together. And yes, I consider the tank as a form of tractor.

Can anyone tell what brand crawler this is? It would be interesting to know what makes and how many crawler/dozers went to war. In
the recent picture of IH dozers lined up, they looked endless! A dear friend ran a Cat in the Philippines for the army equivalent
of the Seabees. His only war injury was a piece of re-bar caught in a track and came up around and got his foot.

FIL bought this scraper years ago to do some work around the place. Sat unused for years awaiting my restoration but I sold it a few years ago to a
guy who said he was going to. I think he turned around and sold it. I should have kept it. It had rings on it for parachute drops and I believe it
was to go behind the Clarkair crawlers.

R G LeTourneau built over half the the earth moving equipment used during WW II.
He even built a plant in Australia so the equipment would be close to the fighting in the Pacific.
His son went there to oversee some operations and then joined the Seabees himself.

In the March across the Pacific, the Seabees were essential to success, often building airstrips while onder fire and the front line Marines only a few hundred yards
away.
