From a problem posted from a couple years ago.
Loader on a 4020 JD with a joystick control valve would go up before going down or go down before going up. Control valve was replaced without correcting the problem and problem remained the same.
Solution: Lift cylinders were removed and disassembled. One was found to have a partially slightly failed piston, not the seals or packing. (I haven't seen the failed part) No parts available to repair the failed piston or replace the cylinder with the problem.
New cylinders were installed but were not a direct replacement. Pin sizes were different and slightly larger cylinders required both to be replaced. FEL now works well.
