Parts tractor value

I need a few parts but wonder if this one is worth going
to get, hour away from me, talked to guy on the phone
and he said if I would buy today he would take $300, I
need the lift arms and draw bar. I think he rolled the
tractor getting it out of the woods to load it up. I think
$100 to $150 tops for it.

I would make him an offer to buy the parts your wanting. And offer to go there and take those items off.

If he's not persuaded to do that, then I'd make him an offer for the whole tractor, in the amount of what the parts your wanting are worth (basically the same price as you shot him for just the parts).

You can allow him scrap metal prices for the rest of the tractor that your not wanting, but you'll come up in the whole if you do. You'll be paying him the same thing he'll get at the scrap yard, but only now you'll be doing all the hauling instead of him. It'll be your gas and time gone then, and not his, and he'll be collecting the same money at the end of the day.

This seems to be happening alot these days, and this is a good example. Tractor likely going to scrap, but there are just a few parts on it that really should be harvested before it makes its journey there.

Dont have a clue if he will sell parts and pieces off of it or not, Im working in the town its located at today,
hopefully he can call me back before I knock off to drive back home. Would like to see it up close and strike
up the conversation of just buying what I need off of it. But if he dont want to sell any parts off of it I just
dont see it being worthwhile to go get it for $300 as I have to bring my truck and trailer back to fetch it

Since it is fairly close to you and has the hitch (and possibly other) parts you need it sounds downright reasonable to me!

Around here the arms and draw bar are worth the asking price. The rest is profit at 200.00 a ton

Ive got several 40s and 420s, fixing to look at it in about half hour before I head back home, might post some more pics of at upon inspection and maybe I can get just a little better deal on it.

A lot ofit seemsvery good to me.
If you have a hood impact, you can disassemble it, and advertise it parts by parts.
Front end plus wheel: 300 to 400
Rear rims: 200
Engine crank: 150
Complete short bl9ck engine if usable: 400
Rear hubs: 300
Drawbar and hitch: 300
Sheet metal: 150
Transmission: 150 to 200

So you can remove your parts, and still make about 1000 profit. If you are a doctor, it is not worth your time, but if you work for 50 an hour, that is 20hours of your time, and you will not spent 20 hours ...

The one rim is rusted threw at the bottom on the right hand side.

Forget the value of the tractor, what are the parts that you need worth? What's the rest worth for scrap after that?

That rim is actually in very good shape, just the edge is
damaged, I can repair that easily and keep the rim or
sale it or trade it, when I have the time Ill cut that little
section out and weld new metal in and be good to go.
The old gal not worth spending money and time on but
I can get what I need off it and save the radiator and
the front grill, may save the axles too

Buy it, take what you need and sell the rest for parts. A couple of years ago, I bought a burned Oliver 770 for $250. I took the parts that I needed off of it and listed the rest on a Facebook Oliver page. I sold over $500 worth of parts off of it and hauled it to scrap and got $250 for what was left. Win win!!

Well 300 would be what its worth here in NC. I would think scrap price would come close to that. But I know some of you guys live in the deep south and the plains where tractors are comparatively cheap.

And remember. You need parts. You have to make it worth someone elses' while to drag that stuff up from wherever and sell it.

I know you got it for $275 plus $50 to deliver so you didn't do to bad. I wouldn't have gone any lower than $300 if I were selling it - it worth that in scrap weight.

If for some reason the tractor needs to get out of the yard, pull that complete single front tire unit yoke and all and don't let it go for scrap. If i get to feeling better (Chemo) I'll come and get it. We'llset price later.
