Very brilliant orange sunrise this morning, southern MN. Can notice a haze up high in the sky.

A few years ago it got bad down here, grey days could smell the smoke, actually affected the crops they didnt mature as soon in fall.

Ol' T.V. mentioned, down on the IH board, that it's cold down there by him. He's in OH somewhere. I saw the satellite imagery of the cold front coming down yesterday at about the same time the lake breeze came on shore here in the afternoon. That brought all the smoke down with it & now it smells like I live back out in burnt sage brush country. It's faint, but it's there.

You don't forget that smell, that's for certain.

One of the Lexington, KY weathermen mentioned it this evening, fairly hazy, there's too much other smells around to notice it though.

I believe that it made it to SE Mich. and viewed a very hazy sun in the late afternoon. Some comments this morning at McD for coffee. The first thought was that a lot of farm ground being worked set up a dust cloud.

Weatherman has been talking about it a little off and on for a week or so now here in SW Pa. Has been hazy, most noticeable early morning and again in evenings. Everyone wonders why we have some of the worst air in the U.S. here, We're in a natural funnel For everything moving to the east coast and/or New England area due to the shape of the mountain/ridge lines. Update: wow. Smoke is so bad the neighbors groves are just hazy outlines can barely make out. Cars have headights on to drive. Wow its bad smoke out today.
