This is the first time Ive ever had a tractor with duals.
Does give a smoother ride. And I hope less
compaction

That's a nice looking tractor Bruce ! We have a few of the Magnums for our big tractor usage. They all have duals on them also, and it sure is a noticeable difference when they have been removed. Especially the ones with the 14.9 x 46 rears, as they ride like a steel wheeled wagon.

I finally got a tractor with duals, just don't have any implements wide enough to use that would cover the tracks. Disc is 12' dualed up is right at 12' also tongue gets real short turning. Pulled of the duals for now.

Speaking of compaction one of the local big time operators pulled into the fifty acre field next to me with a big roller, had three big tanks on it and pulled with a big JD tractor.
The field was already gone over with a giant field cultivator a week or so ago, seems backwards to me.

Then the organic guys across the road from me pull in with two tracked JDs, don't remember what they were pulling but a couple other tractors looked like they were pulling seven bottom plows, think that's about a 300 acre field and they did a beautiful job with those plows.

Then they pull-in with some kind of big cultivator on another tractor and another one on huge JD disc.
I like to watch these guys but I wish I had some idea of what they're doing.

This is a Pottinger Terradisc. They make several different high speed tillage pieces. This one chops up corns stalks real good, and leaves a smooth finished surface that you can plant right into. I can go 8 mph, and for reasons I dont understand, the faster you travel the better it works.

in loose ground pulling heavy load seems like duals gain you another gear . was pulling 12ft disc and 21-7 drill with my 1650 oliver. duals were off. it was loaded in 3rd.put duals on that night n was pulling same load same ground in 4th
