Two questions

Changing the oil on a Ford 540 Industrial I purchased. It has a New
Holland 86546614 300 Dual in it now.

Is the current iteration of New Holland 86546614 the same as the
older 300 Dual version?

Is Fleetguard LF3313 exactly the same as the current New Holland
86546614?

Thanks

This Filter has been around since 1957 as far as I know.

Most likely not the exact same but some may do a better job of filtering then the OEM filter. And some will not do quite as good. And all will probably do a good job of filtering when compared to the OEM filter. So now it is up to you whether you want to pay the price of the OEM versus after market. I've been using Baldwin filters for over 20 years on trucks and now on the tractors for the last 5 years. IT saves me driving 15 miles for filters when I can drive 5 miles. Prices are similar to the Fleet guard filters the Case dealer sells.

I can't tell you if the same.Just CNH says what it replaces,

What does the 300 Dual mean? It doesn't work in the filter cross references I checked. I have not found any description of what made it special. It looks like a marketing name stuck on it along with the actual part number to me. The actual part number is what would count to me. I would expect the current version to meet or exceed the older 300 Dual version.

To tell if the filters that cross reference to the NH filter are the same, you need to compare the specs of the filter you are looking at to the NH filter's specifications.

From the archives,I wonder if it is a marketing ploy??

The current part from CNH could be manufactured by either Fleetguard or Donaldson. The Fleetguard LF3313 is the same spec as the current OEM filter.

Thanks for the replies. The Fleetguard filter is much easier for me to obtain than the New Holland. Appreciate the input.

The FL1A filter has been used on more Ford cars & trucks than ANY other filter ever made. Engine Masters on Motor Trend TV tested the Ford original and most of the equivalents made by other brands and they all performed pretty close to the same. And much to the surprise of the Engine Masters test team, even the tiny little filters GM is fond of using now days actually filters as much oil and flows as many GPM with similar low pressure drop and removes as much dirt as a full size FL-1A. So as long as any variation of an FL1A screws onto the filter mount there shouldn't be a problem.
I did switch my filter of choice for my 2018 RAM 1500 with 5.7L Hemi, and by the way, all Three Engine Master guys switched their preferred filter to the same brand, the K&N Premium Gold . It has the finest mesh filter media, filters out small particles, has the least pressure drop due to no restriction, and has the best combination of design features inside the filter, and also the only filter with a stamped and formed hex nut spot welded on the end away from the base to improve install & remove ease. The filter on my 5.7L is actually fairly accessible but I normally use a large pair of Channelocks to remove the filter and a strap wrench to install it, now I can use a 1/2 ratchet and extension and a 3/4 socket.
