As a lover of classic cast iron cook wear I am very familiar with seasoning techniques. I wondered if it would work on a tractor exhaust manifold, so I went to work on my Case SC with my Flaxseed oil and a paintbrush. Light coats, wipe off all excess with a lint free rag (until it looks dry). Drive, let cool and repeat. A couple coats later and it looks like a shiny Griswold skillet. Seems to take the heat well too, heavy plowing, pulling a loaded tumblebug for 6 hrs and disking and it still looks great.
Way better alternative to the crappy "heat paint" that always burns off.
