Someday soon, this barley will become beer

6 row or 2 row?

They have tried to improve barley here in my location southern MN for the local brewery. They sort of had a pretty
good 6 row bred to work in our challenging dirt and climate; now all the barley processors are moving to 2 row
barley and dont want to bother with the 6 row any more.

So, its back to the drawing board from what I hear.

Just cant find a 2 row that will yield (and more important hold top quality) year in and year out here. Falls flat on its
face every few years.

2 row. Dunno if you can tell by pic. I very seldom clean barley.

Yes, the cleaner has an infeed auger and a discharge auger. My expectation is that I am cleaning out of a gravity box into another gravity box. That is seldom the case, so I try to be as adaptable as I can be to the customer. In this case, I left my discharge auger cradled and dumped directly into his auger to fill his grain bin.

(quoted from post at 05:49:21 04/26/23) My dad used to raise barley, he was always happy when it was good enough for malting, that paid a premium
price!

And today I am cleaning oats and wheat near Mora MN
