Dieseltech 2810 Problem

2810 diesel has been running fine, been using a box blade working on the driveway to the new shop, was spreading sand and uncovered a small snake, stopped and shut the engine down to check out the snake. He was dead so I got back on the tractor and it would not start, turns over fine, checked fuel level got about a half tank, open the bleed on the CAV pump, no air solid stream of fuel. Hated to do it but gave it a shot of starting fluid and it fired off and ran like it always does, finished grading, parked it, tried to restart it and would not start, give it a shot and fires right off and runs fine. I have never had a problem with this tractor. Does this sound like an injector pump issue? If not, where to look for a problem. Thanks Bill.

If hot cranking speed is OK, pump MIGHT have a severely worn head/rotor assembly as that's how engines act with a worn hydraulic head. Might also be a severely worn cam ring/shoes/rollers too inside injection pump.
