Each year if I get a deer I cut a leg off and put it in the stake pocket of my pickup. Get a lot of comments about it.
In January I brought a big load of debris to the transfer station.
Young guy there saw the deer foot and laughed.
We had a short convo about hunting.
The usual - Where do you hunt? How did you do, etc, etc?
I am doing a little bathroom job and have a small amount of debris to get rid of.
So I drive in this morning and the guy says, 'Is that all you have? It's $80 minimum you know'.
I say, 'Yeah I know the price. But my customer pays for it'.
So he walks around the pickup to inspect the load and sees the deer foot. He laughs out loud and says, 'I remember you. You're the guy with the deer foot.'
I laughed too and said, 'Yeah, thats me'.
Then he said, 'Ah heck. That's not enough debris to charge you for. Just back over there and dump it.'
I said, I dont mind paying. It's not my money'.
He says, Nah. Just dump it over there and go'.
So we talked for a bit as I unloaded.
As I was leaving he says, 'It's only 7 months till the rifle opener. Are you ready'?
I said,'Yeah, I'm always ready for hunting.' And I said, 'Thank you for this and have a good day.
And he said, 'You too. And thanks for the laugh. I'm gonna put a deer foot in my pickup next year'.

As much as it warmed up here today it is probably going to start stinking now. Maybe you use it to ward off the crowd of pretty girls following you all the time. ; > ) To keep it ..TRACTOR.. related if you did not already see it do you have any wisdom for the new poster ..brigby.. on his post yesterday about the hydraulics on his Ford 3000? See link.
New poster Ford 3000 Hyds.
