First day of field work, NOT

Dry enough to get started today but on the first spreader of fertilizer busted a rear tire on my 4020. I knew it needed attention but hoped it would hold for this week yet. I have a pair of brand new ones in the shed for it. Not much fun jacking up and fixing in the field. The 4230 is waiting on parts as well as the other 4020. I guess I should learn to manage better and work on my stuff instead of everyone else's. Tom

This warm dry weather snuck up on me too quick. I put new tie rod ends on the big White late last week. I went and got my seed corn this morning, then pulled the big dosc out. I had to put two new half spools and end caps on it and fix two tires, then grease it. By the time I got done, my feet were so sore and swollen from all that crouching, I had to come in and sit down after I took a bale out and fed the bulls in the barn. I need to go tomottow and get some landsides for the plow, then grind a couple of loads of feed. I'm missing my soap operas on TV. LOL

Got my lawnmower out over the weekend. Last night installed the belt for the deck and spun it. I mowed a little bit and decided it was high time for new idlers and spindle bearings on the deck. It was so very loud. Why didn't I undertake that over the winter!!! Oh, and don't ya just love pole barn steel nails? Right up there with drywall screws! LOL
