Year a round 205 cab

Hi all. Picked up a year a round model 205
cab for 25 bucks. It is on really good
shape and has mounts. Looks like it might
have been on a 706? I'm looking to put it
on my 766. It looks like it might work,
but it will be close. Does anyone have any
info about that model cab? I can find
anything about it online. I'm concerned it
might not be wide enough to fit over the
hood. Thanks!

Not familiar with the model number of the cabs but the early ones are called the square cabs and the later ones were called the diamond cabs
Either way the basic cabs were all the same and would fit every brand and model of tractor. The difference being in the service windows and the floor plates and filler plates as well as the mount brackets. It will definitely fit over the hood.

It's an old flat sided one? Yes the front opening wont be tall enough for the 66 tractors. The sides? Get your tape measure and find out. The rest should be fine.Do the measureing first. Write it down before you start 'construction'.The inner tin work you will probably have to make. Get some flashing metal and tin snips. Make cardboard patterns first. With a bit of immagination and skill, plus welder and torch, you can make anything fit. I Once put an Ansel 'Ace of Diamonds' from an 1130 massey onto my 706(still own that one),and a YAR QT1 from a Ford 9000 onto a 856. You can do it! just think and be patient.

Yes, it's a flat sided one. I did some measuring, and I think it will be EXTREMELY close. I think all the mounts will work the same. Might just try to set it on, and see how off it is.

Yep. I set it on with the loader too. Marked it where needed. Lifted it back off and trimmed and added as needed.
