John Deere 2030

I had to fix the hydraulic piston that moves the 3 point arms. I read up on what was the proper way to reinstall the arms and the lever. They should all be in the
down position when starting the tractor back up. Started tractor up the arms started coming up almost right away. It is obvious I have missed something. I have never
done a repair like this before, unfortunately taking the tractor to my local John Deere dealer is out of the question due to cost. They also were unwilling to even
answer my questions because they want me to bring it to them to fix.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have encountered a couple Deere dealers that were that big a jerks in the past. Most of them I have dealt with were pretty decent to talk to about something. Especailly with the older equipment since they probably don't have anybody old enough to know much about a lot of it. though there is a fairly big Deere following in the surounding 50 mile or more radius.

It sounds like the draft control linkage may not have matched up properly when you set the 3-point top back in place. Do you have a tech manual? I suggest posting this down lower on page in the John Deere-specific page.

Sorry I do not, This is my first post ever and to be very honest I'm not sure what I'm doing.

When you lowered the rocker-shaft housing on to the rear case, you did not get the-cam follower in the right position in relationship to the rocker-shaft cam.. And also you need to have the tractors sensitivity lever (L-D-L&D) in the L position for both taking off housing and putting back on..

Below is a photo sorta showing what Jim MN stated about cam follower(shaded part) needed to be straddled by linkage in front of cam follower.

I remember read about that, it seems my interpretation of what I read was incorrect. The linkage as you call it is that #16 and the cam follower is the shaded part
in front of it or to the left? If so then it should go back together just as it looks in the picture? If that's the case then I know what I did wrong.

Thanks for the advice and help.

I hadn't heard or read anything about having to have the sensitivity lever in the L position. I just went and checked, it wasn't in that position we I put the cover back on. I'm hoping to take the cover back off in the coming week the put it back on following every ones advice.

Thanks for you help and information.
