Massey 2805 Perkins V8

Does the Perkins in this tractor have parts available somewhere? Anything else a guy would need to know about this tractor?
 
Perkins is now owned by Cat, so that helps. If you Google Perkins 540 parts, you will find many new and used parts sources. Personally, I would be more concerned about transmission parts, especially if it has the 3 speed power shift option.
 
Those were considered a problem tractor, both engine and transmission. When I was working at the salvage yard we parted one out with less than 1500 hours.
 
only buy it if you want to be really busy when you retire spending all your money on it.
 
I had one I liked it but had major problems with the rear end second time I had to rebuild it went down the road. On the motor only problem I had was charge pump. It was a learning curve for me, from what I hear the was the weak point on the 2805 was the rear end. Good luck
 
Lyle Nemie a few years back on here posted his problems with Massey , dont remember if it was this exact model. He had it all split and torn apart.
 
If you want a Massey find an 1105 or 1135. The 24 speed power shift in the 2000 series was a major factor in Massey Ferguson going bankrupt.
 
a side by side ? you making fun of my buddy ? he just wants to go for a nice pieceful ride around the farm checking on the green green grass
of home, and reminice how things were done back then with an old tractor. i even take an old tractor out crop touring instead of the quad.
