We all hope for a long productive life, key word being productive. I have been very slowly losing weight for a year and a half and I am now down about 25 lbs, and am able to be more productive. I recently turned 70 and I am very healthy except for a fair amount of arthritis, especially in my hips and lower spine. Losing weight is not easy, but it is very important to have a good BMI in order to be active and enjoy our later years. We all know that excessive sugar and overweight causes a host of problems, such as type 2 diabetes and various joint problems, and more recently research has found a direct correlation between high blood sugar and Alzheimers. I urge everyone to get their blood sugar checked and if elevated to reduce their sugar intake. Skinny guys often have high blood sugar too. Live to ENJOY retirement!!
