Old Imported Mahindra 475 DI

I bought this old Mahindra 475 DI, not knowing that the parts were nearly impossible to find. My fuel injection pump in no good at all. To make matters worse, the only data plate that cross references from the MICO pump to BOSCH is so faded that it cannot be read. Do any of you know what the pump number is for the older 3 cylinder 475 DI? Someone here must know because most of you have forgotten more about these things than I have ever known. I need a number to give to the pump shop, or I am in trouble. I have spent a lot of money on this old thing, thinking I could get it going like my 1954 8N. I have just learned that diesel tractors are beyond my personal expertise. Any help you can give will be most appreciated.

Have you tried placing a piece of paper over your ID plate, and lightly rubbing it with the side of a pencil lead, that might bring out you
numbers.

Before you spent too much at the pump shop, try to clean up the fuel bowl, fuel lines, fuel filter.
Remove the pump cover and check if the rack is stuck. If it is, remove the pump, clean it, and put it upside down in acetone + rust remover mix, and waiit some.
Once unstuck, reinstall bleed to the pump and the injectors lines, and it will start.

That tractor engine and hood looks like copied from an IH D326 tractor, built in Neuss,Germany.
The tranny is the an agriomatic copy, from the later French built 423.

If it is the same engine, they are very hard to start. You need to use glow plugs for 1 minute at 80F. Similar to an IH 560.

So first check lines and fuel cleanliness , bleeding, AND glow plugs.

I can't answer any questions about a Mahindra, never worked on one, but they look like they used or copied a lot parts from other makes. Search says it was stretd by one
man in Texas in 1994. I always assumed they were a foreign made manufacturer from Asia. Oh, and by the way, there was never a 1954 FORD 8N. The FORD 8N was introduced in
July, 1947 as the new 1948 Model and ran til SEP 1953. Production had ceased before then as they tooled up for the new NAA/Jubilee Model, released in SEP 1953. The big
difference is the NAA now had the 134 CID/OHV Red Tiger Engine. N's prior to then used the FORD 4-CYL Flat Head 128 CID engine. So, if you have an overhead valve engine,
likely an NAA otherwise if a flathead, likely an 8N or 9N. The 9N & 2N models all used a 3-SPD Trans and DRAFT CONTROL only. he 8N introduced the 4-SPD trans and added
POSITION CONTROL to the hydraulic lift system...but you knew that already.

Mahindra is from India, and was started in 1945. They build licensed copies of a lit of stuff, including the original Jeep CJ.

from what the local Case IH dealer told me, they sold some of them it was patterned from the IH B414 and the B275 IH, I don't
know this but he said it had the same motor but ws just made in India

Bills tractor and Equipment , Adkins, Texas may be able to help.
You better have Serial # and any other pertinent info. The 475 was made in more than one version. Bill has 2 websites. one for Mahindra parts only and another for multiple lines. I see both 3 and 4 cyl engines. Have fun!!!!
