That house sits right on the ground.

The kids appear to be about the same age. I would guess it must be a birthday party
for a kid and his first-grade classmates. I note one mother sitting on a bench
to the Right. I'm kind of interested in the building setup. It looks like the
cookstove might be just inside the door. Probably the stack of firewood is inside
that entry, to keep it dry. That tin smoke stack looks dangerous.
It looks like the sun is very high, judging by the shadows. Must be a hot day down South.
The kitchen window looks like it's covered by chicken wire.. to keep the birds out?
I wonder about the far-left corner. Is that a concrete block fireplace? And the
foundation looks like concrete, but could be square logs. Maybe someone can
recognize the trees out back. To me they look like elms. Might be a clue as to what
state it's from.

Our old Sup't of Utilities grew up in Oklahoma, and the family was so poor they didn't even have a shack. They lived under
a tarp alongside a truck. Depression times.
