This was setting on a auction lot. Looked to have been taken out of a shed after setting for many years.

I have never seen a wooden elevator. It's neat.
 
Yes. Keeping it inside was the only way to keep it from decay and warpage. Neet device, hard to display in a museum. Jim
 
Oh, I'll bet you're right... now that I think about it. A drag line would be flat (at least ours was).
 
i remember when Dad built the opening on the roof then got Grandpas old Sandwich wooden elevator then because he bought a new one row picker and no scoping earcorn then along with the yr old f-20 he was set rite before WW 11
