Neighbor just got a CaseIH 75. When he turns key for glow plugs the indicator light comes on for about 3 seconds then goes out. Do it again same thing. Is there a fuse or relay somewhere

Thats what it supposed to do. Its timed to prevent the plug from burning out - at least thats how my New Holland tractor works.

I mean literally 3 seconds and that's not enough to begin starting it in 0 degrees. I have a 65 and mine stays on about 25 seconds.

They will provide a complete service jmanual download for $29.95. PS, it's the genuine factory service manual. Might have 3000 pages to download but if he's new and unfamiliar with the tractor it would be a good investment.

They are set up to fast heat. Kind of like a 6 volt bulb in a 12 volt machine it is bright and hot for a bit but left on it burns out. Most likely during the starting cycle if it cranks to long the logic system energizes them again to reheat them without the operator knowing it. They are NOT like other older systems were you hold the key to heat the glow plugs and watch a coil heat up in a hole.
