I was wondering if anyone else owned a mm g1000 vista with a 3 speed? My grandpa and I haven t come across anyone who has owned one except for us.

I have one. It is an LPG and was built on 5/1/1969. According to the build card it is the 2nd LP with the 3 speed.

MM designed 3 speed. Used (optional} on late G-1000 Vista's and M-670 Supers. Also used on G-950 and G-1050 and others. Completely different than Oliver/White over-under shift and much more difficult to work on. Integrated into the transmission case instead of being a separate unit like an over-under shift so takes much more labor to rebuild.

OK, I figured it might be a built in unit, different from the O/U. I didn't know just when they did start using the O/U in MMs. The G1355 used it didn't they? Did any of the others?

Correct. The G-955 and G-1355 both used the Over/under shift. It is MUCH better. I have a G-955 with it and it is my son's favorite tractor. They made a big cast iron housing to make the transition from the MM frame rails and hold the over/under unit. Also the Oliver hydraulics and power steering are much better. In my opinion, the best of both worlds-MM engine and front axle paired with Oliver rear 1/2.

I owned 3 of them at one time . Have 2 left one is a parts
tractor now . They both could be bought if someone is
seriously interested .
