I have an ih660 hand clutch no TA. The fork on the clutch release has broken. Can it be replaced without splitting the tractor. If not is splitting the tractor a major job? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

if your talking the fork that pushes on the release brg. that should be able to be replaced by removing the bottom inspection cover and removing the 2 bolts from the fork and pull the clutch shaft out. why did it break? and splitting them tractors is no big deal. i have them apart in one hr.

Ah no it's a split job , Sorry , ya have to remove two bolts to slide the shat out part way then remove to woodworf (sp) out of the shaft for the shaft to come out far enough to get the release arm out . Now as is it a hard job , Well it's not when ya have the stuff for splitting a tractor , when it's your first time then yes it will project . You want to move the ft forward from the rear end . For this ya need either splitting stand that roll and are adjustable . Ya block up the rear half and block the back wheels . if ya don't have splitting stands then and overhead gantry crane . When ya remove the frame bolts from the rear frame DO NOT remove them from the back engine mounting plate to support the rear of the engine leave on top bolt in on each side and one bottom blot each side sticking thru that piece of plate steel on the back of the engine . If ya don't then the engine weight will break the ft. timing cover . . Now i have never done a hand clutch in my neck of the woods SOOOO i am not sure on what else is involved in dealing with a hand clutch. And your on your own .
