Steel Wheels

I had the idea of returning my cutoffs to steel and buying standard wheels for my John Deere B. I'd then use the steel as show wheels, so people can see a John Deere B on steel, which I have never seen in person, and also to have it original for shows. The reason for buying the standard is I value my back, right old? Anyway, I'm looking for guide bands for the front and Steel lugs for the back. Do you know where I can find some? I plan to have Detwiler put my cutoffs on steel again.

I cannot tell you where to find either but I could pull out the owners manual I have for my 1935 B that came with steel wheels and get the part number My B still sits on steel wheel

HA HA very funny. :? There's also the matter of my fathers asphalt driveway and lawn, which I'm pretty certain that he doesn't want either ripped up.

Hello I have welded steel cut offs back on for my 37 A JD but I still have the rubber wheels too. I see a lot of tractors without lugs and
rubber from old tires bolted to the rims. My neighbor ( that just passed away ) used to put steel wheels on in the winter on his WC he
said that it would shack so hard on the frozen ground the battery box fell off. My neighbor used to do trucking he talked about a time
when he delivered hay to a guy ( pickup and goose neck ) they unloaded the hay the warm tires melted into the snow and ice , the 180 Allis
that they used to unload the hay without chains would not move the truck . the farmer un hooked and drove into the shed and came out with a
WC on rear steel he hooked on and pulled it right out . Bryan
