Okay guys (and gals) quick survey on where we all stand on Dynahoes? Going to look at a 160 this morning and thought I'd ask for you all's opinions good or bad. Probably hold off on making a decision for a day to mull it over. Thanks for any input.

All the dynahoes I've been around had a 2
stroke Detroit. That is either a love or
hate relationship.
All things being equal, I would say to
think about that before anything.
It's going to be harder to find parts for
that machine compared to a case, cat,
deeer, etc.
They're out there though.

Jimmy dog we were screening gravel with an RD 40 Reed power
screen using a Case 580E backhoe. The homeowner had an old
Dynahoe backhoe. He says use it to screen. I used it for a little
while and went back to the 580 E. The old Dynahoe was just
cumbersome compared to the Case.

Only folks that could afford them when they were out were governments projects or contractors. They
were so big they wore their self out just moving around. If you could keep one working it would do
a lot of work but big and slow, and expensive to work on.

OK on a jobsite, mostly just in the way around a farm. Way too heavy, but it comes with a handy rear mounted excavator/extractor to help push/pull you when (not
if) it gets stuck.

Heavy, loud, struggled in loose ground. But it had a powerful hoe. Ford 4 stick. Air brakes but if you
needed help turnin there was a switch on the loader control that sent a magnet to the brake drum you wanted
to lock.

Thanks all who chimed in. Yeah, that thing is a behemoth. It's in really good condition, but you guys are right a little more than I need around here. It's a good deal for somebody but not the right fit for me.

The kid represented it accurately in his ad and seems motivated to sell. If somebody as looking for one of these, this one is about as good as I'd expect you'd find anywhere.

Yeah, this one started it's life at a municipality.

Thanks again for the info.

Only time I saw one was when I went to get a JD500 TLB for parts. Alot of items were removed but that
dynohoe picked it right up and loaded it no problem. Problem was getting it unloaded when I got home.
That thing was a beast !
