when i saw this i thought of the W6 i used in the field when i was young. when i was 14 i beat the whole school doing the chin hang. had to hang for as long as you could hanging at eye level at the bar. i hung for 2 minutes. some had a hard time to get 10 seconds.

Cabover trucks and no power steering,I didn't need no stinking gym! Now I have p/s on the lawn mower!

When a teenager, I would climb the hay sling rope up to the hay loft peak some times after handling square bales all day. When I got to highschool phy ed there was a rope in the gym hanging from the rafter. When asked if I would climb it by the teacher, I asked, with or without gripping the rope with my legs and I got a very funny look. I went up using my 2 hands, slapped the rafter with one hand and came down. Our 35 Ford 1.5 ton and 53 Chev. of course had no power steering.

yes i forgot about that, used to do the same thing in the gym, smack the ceiling. lol.

Raised on a dairy farm I Had a good grip from milking cows. One day me and some guys were going to test our grip on one of those machines. The dial started out with weak and went up to superman. I was the first and last to use the machine. I broke it.The needle went up past Superman and never came back down

Yes, we used to squeeze the bathroom scale. I could always get the highest reading.

So true and I am still in that day. I still have vehicles and tractors with no power steering. The only one I complain about much is the 730 Case with worn out u joints in the steering shaft and a heavy 7 foot dozer blade. That can be a little more of a workout than I need these days. Other than that my skinny arms can handle manual steering without even thinking about. Makes me laugh these guys that are restoring an old car or truck and the first thing they want is a power steering kit to add on.

in college, I used to go home on weekends to help with chores and/or crop work. One Sunday night, I got back and went to shake hands (why I don't know) with my roommate. Gave him a great squeeze but forgot he was also a farm boy and also on the college crew team. Talk about a standoff!! Neither of us wanted to be the first to let go.

I grew up hand milking cows every day so strong hand grips kind of goes along with that in your background.

and you could still back it up , not like todays drivers with power steering struggling.

We also squeezed the bathroom scale. Mom said I broke it-but my best was over 250-260#. My friends -non farmers -couldn't come close. Mark.
