JD 8630 with or without 3 point?

Yes. Such a tractor is always worth more if equipped with more features. Guys scuffed at buying one brand new with PTO but a few decades later such tractors were pulling tank type manure applicators and grain buggies requiring PTO.

Out here on the prairie VERY few 8630's had 3-point hitches, or a use for them, so I don't think one would add much to the value in this particular area.

On the other hand, not all had PTO's and that is (or was) valuable to buyers looking to pull/power grain carts.

Of course, most anyone who farms much acreage would have long ago moved on to a newer tractor.

I have owned a 1975 8630 since it was two years old. It hasn't done much since 1997 or so, but I've kept it around, as I've always enjoyed driving it and it was a VERY good tractor for me.

Here it is just after a minor ''mud incident'' in the early 80's.

every option has value.. We have a neibor that has 2, one is drawbar only the other is full dressed.. the full dressed one is constantly busy. It runs a big baler all summer and tillage in the spring and fall.. those tractors are good inexpensive big horsepower that is sought out buy many due to the lack of computers and emmissions.
