Farmall sickle mower ID

A very good fellow YT member and friend has set my oldest son up in the mowing business with 2 Farmall sickle mowers. Both mowers are / were rear mount mowers for the SA through 140 model 1 row tractors. In the above picture this mower has a 5 ft bar and 1 helper lift spring. The other mower has a 6 ft bar and 2 helper lift springs. I am wanting to order an operator manual for these. We think the mower with the 5ft bar is a model A 21, while the mower with the 6ft bar and 2 springs is an A 24. Am I correct on this assumption ?

You are correct. 21 series had the old style gag lever assembly, same as 16 series. 24 series had the heavy duty gag lever assembly. 16 series mowers from factory was hand lift only
 
50 plus years ago there was what looks like those here. Took half a day to put on the H bolting to the drawbar. That was a short lived thing. Knife bar is now on several other things including under the bottom of the MD U drawbar to reinforce it along with the swing piece. Both would bend or break under load. Had to do that to the H when it got on the farm too. Good steel in the bars.
