Need help with rim identification

I am new to the IH world and don't
understand what rim I have. I need
a new one and tires as well. It was
a 15-34 tire. A 1948 W9.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I think someone who has a wheel in decent shape can get you the information you need.
Getting useful information from that might be like trying to identify a corpse that's
been dead a few years and partially eaten by bears.

I'm thinking the rim for a W9 was somewhat universal. Meaning, if it's a W9 rim, it'll fit and work on any W9 throughout the series no matter what year.

Probably not going to find an NOS one. So your search is going to have to be for a used one from a salvage yard, or an aftermarket reproduction.

As said in other post on HI board. knock the beads off then the rust it might not be as bad as it looks. I've use rims/wheels in worse shape than that before. Lots of places Heywheel in KS Wold Wheel as stated and many junkyards. Try JP tractor salvage in Fredricktown MO probably got some on hand. Could also convert a flat based rim with the drop out of the old rim. could also use the wider rim and cut it down on the hub for a true spin as you cut it then weld the piece back together without the strip in the middle.
