Easier starting?

(quoted from post at 16:37:43 12/05/22) If you put in high compressing aluminum pistons in a John Deere B, will you get more HP and easer starting?

Not going to turn it into a G . However LP pistons . A matching cam , a cold manifold and 91 octane will allow the B to pull the same load a gear higher .

Yes. While your at it have the cam reground, carb gone through by a carb rebuilder and have the dist. gone through. My G will start with less than a
half turn of the flywheel. I run 120 Renegade fuel in it also.

Dont get goofy with the compression. Youll have it
knocking so bad that youll have to grind the slots in
the mag to get enough retard to make it stop. Then
this will change your lag angle to way past top dead
center... do yourself a favor and stick with factory
compression.

If it's hard to start because the engine is slap worn out, any kind of overhaul will improve starting. It doesn't have to be super duper amazing colossal ultra performance high compression pulling pistons.
