Back in the 1950's, I had an aged aunt that came to our family doings wearing a cigarette pack sized hearing aid system that I marveled at.
1. She kept house and was only around horses and mules field work.
2. She never owned loud stereos, radios, whistling teakettles or drove mufflerless cars.
3. Never went through chemo treatments that I knew about

Now why did she go deaf? It's just not fair!

(quoted from post at 06:44:28 11/30/22) That would be sweet listening to that big 2 cylinder working.

I spent many, many hours in cabs like that one, and even more hours on open station tractors of that vintage and even at 72 years old my hearing is just fine. Hearing loss has more to do with genetics than anything else.

I worked briefly for a neighbor that bought a new A JD and immediately rammed a steel fence post down the muffler to make it sound better??????? Leo
