Looking for a second tractor and found a Case 1175. Replacement engine has 1000 hours. Asking price is $8,500. The only Case I have owned is an old 411 and haven't had good luck with it. Are the 1175's a good tractor? Will the loader from the 411 fit on the 1175? Any info is appreciated!

The 1175 is a great reliable tractor. Rated at around 125hp, but likely puts out 150 or so. 2 speed pto and plenty of pulling power. Straight 8 spd transmission is about as bullet proof as it gets. The frame bolts will be the same as the 400, but the loader will likely be light duty for the bigger tractor. A 451 engine with 1000 hours will last a lifetime if taken care of and is a great winter starting engine.

My friend has 1175. His dad bought it new.
Thing must have a million hours on it.
They take the best of care with their equipment and that tractor has given them the best of trouble free performance. That would rank as one of the top 5 tractors Case ever built.

You can't go wrong with a 1175. It won't be the greatest on a loader, but if you are not using it several hours a day on the loader, it will work just fine. They are a great tractor and cause little problems. The 411 loader will be small but with a few mods should fit. I would look for a slightly larger loader for it if you could find one easily. If not go for it, but take it easy as the 1175 is a beefy tractor in comparison to the loader. Depending on condition and area, the $8500 seems reasonable for sure. Bob

If yo are looking for a simple reliable field tractor, it would be hard to do better for the money. Put it in gear, and drive all day without touching the clutch...

If you want a loader tractor, look elsewhere. While you might get your 400's loader on it, the 1175 would mangle it quickly. Also, that is a BIG STIFF dry clutch which gets old fast trying to do precision maneuvering. The gear shift isn't near as easy to shift as other models either.

Can't go wrong on an 1175. Put a lot of hours on one. Most trouble free tractor built. That loader if used hard will not hold up on that tractor. RB

I've had this one for 43 years. Not a more trouble free tractor around. Set at 150 hp as long as I have had it.....

This is the one my Dad bought new. It seemed like my new summer home for the first 3 years. I kept it for quite awhile but finally let it go. Wish now I had kept it, but you can't keep them all.
