What is the best solution to use for cleaning rust out of a carburetor? There isn't a lot but some.

Muriatic acid works well.

An iron carb can be safely soaked (disassembled), then rinsed with water, the passages blown and rodded out with a stiff wire.

An aluminum carb can also be cleaned with muriatic acid, but not left to soak! Pre clean, then pour some acid in the bowl and watch it work, dump and rinse, repeat as necessary but use caution not to remove too much metal!

A crock pot with vinegar or full strength Purple Power also works.

vinegar and water 50/50 Low to medium heat on the stove top pot for 30 minutes. Rinse and repeat.
Don't ask your significant other first , because they will say NO!! Ask for forgiveness after the fact. Don't ask me why I know this CM

Baking soda and a siphon blasting setup. Washes and rinses away easily when done.

I have several pots and pans, measuring cups in the shop, rescued from the trash after she found out what I used them for!

Vinegar, straight and don't leave for more than a half hour at a time. Can get away from you if you forget about it.
