John Deere folding corn heads

The other day I saw one for the first time. The outer ends fold up for transport. How long have these
been around ?

Last year this farmer was running Cat combines. This year they were back to JD don't know if there is a story there or not ? Maybe just whoever offers the best leases ?

Heads for chopping silage corn, have been around for about 10 years that fold like that. Stripper heads for shelling corn for about the last 2-4 years now. There have been some lesser known companies making them for a bit longer than that.
