Heard this John Denver song yesterday. Had never heard it before, it was done in 1975.

I remember it as well as most of the rest of his songs from that time. Probably got it still on LP or 8 track.
 
Great song, paints great mental images for me. I think of it when I drive through Kansas. Interestingly, John Denver wrote a lot of his own hit songs, but this one was by somebody else.
 
That whole album is worth a listen if you've never heard it. Home on the Range is the official Kansas song -great song, but I think Matthew is a runner up for
that title.
