Can anyone tell me the name of the thingy that you plug into an outlet and when the temperature drops down towards freezing it turns on like a thermostat and will turn on something that is plugged into it like the block heater on a generator or maybe the heater in a watering trough. I remember it was discussed on here some time ago, but I can't remember the name of it to do a search for it. I want something like this for the cooolant heater of my Onan 20 Kw generator.

Found this on Amazon. I have two in my well houses to turn on a lamp. Amazon item called a Thermo Cube TC-3

The Thermo cube brand models are limited to a few models with dedicated on and off temperatures. They cannot be adjusted up or down.

use johnofnewhavens suggestion and search for:

"thermostatically controlled outlet"

many that are adjustable via a built in thermostat pop up.
About the same prices as those non adjustable Thermo cubes.

Buy one that will still work and maintain it's settings if the power flickers.

They used to sell, and probably still do, a kind of extension cord that you tiewrapped to the heater hose & that's where you plug your block heater in.
