Worn sprockets

I have a bearing out on the 105 combine feederhouse and plan to replace both and install a new feederhouse chain. The feederhouse chain
sprockets are worn and are no longer available. What if I turn them over so they are driving on the opposite side? Would that be the same as
new sprockets? Thanks Tom

Here's a site to try https://redboarchain.com/collections/sprockets. There is also a company that can custom make sprockets.

Are they just worn off the face of the cogs or worn down in toward the center of the sprocket? I'd think if they were worn down in, that would change the geometry wouldn't it?

I guess it would be better than nothing but still think there would still be a fair amount of slop/wear in the way a new chain would fit. I may would have concerns of the new chain prematurely stretching uneven. I guess no luck with anywhere like Worthington Ag Parts that carries new aftermarket stuff also ?

Sprocket pitch doesn't change the conformity of the teeth to the rollers can, but mostly on the drive side of the teeth. If new chain wraps into the teeth nicely, and pulling outward on the link in the middle of the wrap produces little slack, reversing the sprockets will work. Sprocket blanks can be purchased and hubs adapted to the existing hubs but quite a bit of PT and expense. Jim

Did it while at the dealer on 6620 and 9500 combines, are these on a hex shaft? Just make sure they line up down the shaft as the hex can get it slightly off.

All the comments here are pretty accurate. One thing you will notice when reversing is the wear on the reversed sprockets will be more rapid not to mention the change. Guess how I know.

The other option is welding them and machining them. Reversing or finding a blank would also be acceptable. A blank, or one that can be bored out should be fairly easy.

What is the bore diameter of yours? I wonder how they compare to say a 6620 or 9500?

Believe it or not, clean grain elevator on 105 and 9500 uses the same sprocket.... It could be 105 is just keyed differently or something.
