Work results in blisters

Worked around the kingdom's barn this weekend. Finished putting the concrete in the gutters and the ramp outside the door. Took 91 bags of Sacrete.

I need to get some more pens ready for hogs since ive started breeding them now. The first two juust had their litters and that didnt go so well, only 7 pigs from both guilts. I think I know why that was and hope the next ones go better.

After that I built this feeder for feeding silage to the cattle.

It's about 7' square. Got the pipe from a friend. It has the 45 ends and plates on it so I just bolted 3 sections together then cut and welded in the uprights. I now know why hay feeders are expensive, there is a lot of work in them.

All that resulted in a nice little blister.

Guess I'll have to be more careful not to work so hard. Lol

Nice work on everything.

Post pics if new piglets?

Dad always kept his breeding stock lean... not skinny, but lean and fit.

They are about right for weight, but they had worms and I treated them right as they were breeding. I should have treated them first, then put them with the boar.

Awww, such cute little buggers!

I spent a lot of time in our hog barn as a kid. Kind of a miracle, that I didn't get eaten by some woofy sow... Dad was at work all week, and Mom rarely came out of the house.

What a pleasure to hear the sow go a soothing grunt, grunt as she is letting her milk down. And them little guys noses twitching back and forth.

(quoted from post at 02:32:59 10/11/22) you need to feed them all the corn they can eat before breeding as they will have more eggs old bredding trick

They call that "flushing"
