Okay I hit something while bush hogging broke the pto shaft at the sheer pin replaced the shaft and bearing with new one same length as the old one now when I try to disengage the pto it will not disengage it worked before.

Might have twisted the front of the PTO shaft just behind the engagement collar not letting the collar slide back. Open the side cover and take a look. You can try to slide the collar back and forth by hand.

Lot of difference between disengage and telescope. I would suspect the drive shaft got a bit of a twist and don't telescope now. The yokes are pretty heavy compared to the shaft section. I've twisted the shaft sections before. Not a yoke. If things didn't alter more than the shaft.

Like Stevo posted it is most likely a twist at the front end preventing the collar from sliding. Remove the round plate on the left side where the PTO lever is. Oil level may need to be lowered first.

That collar moves easy as long as the pto shaft is out when it is in it doesn t move but about half way. With pto unbolted when I move the lever it will pus the pto out about half inch but moves freely put the broken shaft back in and it works and both are same length.

Were you able to examine the inside of the collar carefully?
