Got there to late!!

We have a local scrap yard and I guess I need to stop by a little more often. I went there looking for a 10SI alternator for my Super C. This is what I found. Anyway I asked the owner what he would take for the starter and generator off of the red tractor in the pile and he said five bucks each. So I went and got my tool box. To my surprise it had a 10 SI with the diode and all in the wiring. It breaks my heart when I see thes old tractors busted up like that. And this one had been all painted up. A lot nicer than the one I am fixing up to rake hay with.

My recycler won't allow me to pick parts.
Perhaps you should give the scrap yard guy your number next time a tractor arrives.

Family I know owns a bunch of farms. Some years ago they built a 40 acre lake using old equipment they bought cheap. D8s, excavators, off road trucks ECT. Lake was done, machines sitting, when scrap prices were high a few years ago they drove them on trailers and drove them off at the scrap yard. Could get more for scrap then selling as working equipment.

Got to buy them before they go across the scrap yard scale. Of course no one wants to pay much until then either.
