Fast hitch

Saw on craiglist a 1066 for sale. That is not unusual but what jumped out at me is it has the fast hitch. What model did they discontinue the fast hitch? Still available on 1086?

It's not mentioned in my 86-series operator's manual.

Sticking my neck out again, I do not think IH felt the Fast Hitch was rated for tractors over 100hp. I do not think the Fast Hitch was offered from the factory on a four digit model 10??, 12?? or 14?? If you saw an actual Fast Hitch on the tractor it may have been dealer install with 966 parts or farmerized. If you were just looking at wording in an add IH did offer the common 3 point ..Quick couplers.. if that was possibly confused. See the 1066 parts diagrams in the link, the hitches are in the ..Frame.. section. The 3 point tugs do mount in like the fast hitch prongs. However, if you look at the 966 parts the Fast Hitch is shown with the rigid ..wishbone.. that holds the receiver sockets at a set spacing.

IIRC the 66 series was the last which you could get a fast hitch as an option.

1066 is a Cat 3 tractor so that fast hitch has to be an add-on.

Nothing to "farmerize" though. They bolt right on using stock locations. You could take a fast hitch off a 706 and bolt it right on to a 3688, if I'm not mistaken.

Somewhere on my phone I have a picture of a 986 with a fast hitch. Again, not "factory."

I think 986 could have been had with fast hitch. However,I have never seen one so equiped. 966 could,as my brother and a neighbor each had one.Both of those tractors have long since been converted to 3 point.
