First time I had my Dads old Massey out this year

Weve been super busy with kids/work/house renovations and converting the buildings to storage space I havent had any time to enjoy Dads old tractors.
The Massey needed a wash in a terrible way and finally got one this evening

This was my Dad on his 44 2N taken about 12 years ago , my son and I are on the Massey behind him. I miss him a lot, loved to tell stories and doing anything tractor related.

Nice tractor. I know where there is a 444 diesel close by. I don't think the triple numbered diesels were very common. At the place where I volunteer we have a 44 and a 33, both in running order, and the 44 has been restored including a nice paint job.

Member map has you living in Prince Edward Island. I'm a BIG fan of the fiddling music heritage of your area and have several CDs of the music. Do you happen to be a fan of, or maybe play, that music?

Originally Dad wanted to find a 33 diesel as they had one on the farm when he was growing up but no such luck finding one but this one was close by in the next community.
I wish I had the talent to play the fiddle but I definitely enjoy a good fiddle tune. We got the chance to see Eddy Quinn and Fiddlers Sons a few years back, great show if you ever get the chance.
 
I dont think there was very many. The triple series was pretty short lived after the merger and diesels were more common at the time in the bigger models
 
Do you still have the 2N? I still have the 44 2N that my Dad bought new in May of 44 when I was 8 months old. Dad passed away in about 1993.
 
That wouid be very nice to have! The original grey tractor my great grandfather has was a 39 9N , the 2N was the closest we could find to it. We no longer have the 2N but we have my grandfathers Oliver 66 we were working on when Dad passed. Never painted it but we keep it in running order on 12V.
