Help me out here guys!

I have an ancient Bobcat 444 that I've repowered with a 23 HP Briggs. I used the factory set up to drive the hydraulic pump, which consists of a sort of flex plate attached to an adapter that goes on the pumps input shaft. These are attached to one side of the crankshaft. The adapter is my issue. It's a simple internally splined affair that attaches to the flex plate with 2 bolts and then on to the crank. A Lovejoy type coupler would work great here but I need a source for an internally splined tube/hub to fit a 3/4" shaft with, (I think!), 11 splines. I ordered a new adapter from Bobcat, but this is the 3rd one I've needed and while they used to run $35-ish now they're up over $90. When I get it I'll know the proper measurements, but I'm not sure where to look for the splined tube. Yes, I know, it's a 50+ year old machine, but it works good otherwise and will fit in my low ceiling old dairy barn. I have a hard time justifying the $5-8K a replacement machine, a dependable one anyway, would cost.

I've researched this a little, but if anyone knows of a good source for such stuff, I'd sure appreciate the information. Thanks!

There are shops that can cut internal and external splines. Typically, you supply them with a simi finished
part and they cut the splines.

Do a search for 'spline cutting'. It won't be cheap and only as a last resort.

Not too clear what youre looking for. If you already
have an internally splined adapter, why would you
need a Lovejoy? Or are you looking for an
internally splined Lovejoy half, or a piece of splined
coupling stock to weld onto something else?

We used a 574 with a loader to load out manure in pens from cattle in our Dairy barn would drive in and load pen manure with it and drive in 50 or so feet to reach the last of the second pen. With an under slung exhaust it worked fine.

Ok , it appears that you are having repeated failures and want to try something else. If you have enough room for a Lovejoy, how about a simple U-joint?

If you've got the room or can make the room, weld the splined part from the coupler to any old lovejoy. You can even have that done at a machine shop for far less than it would cost to have them custom cut splines.

Thanks guys. I took some time after supper and looked around. I guess I just had to get the terms correct. Found exactly what I need, I think at least, on Ebay! I can slit this, weld on clamping bolts and then weld it to a Lovejoy or even rebuild the worn out Deere part.
