John Deere 300b remotes?

Hi everyone this is my first time here. I appreciate any help I can get. I bought a John Deere 300b last year to use at the deer lease to mow with and it does great for that. I found a guy close by that is selling a loader that he says will fit my tractor. My problem is that I don t have any remotes on this tractor to hook the hydraulics to. I am new to this so maybe I am missing something. How can I tap into the hydraulics to get this done?

To correctly operate a frt end loader on a JD utility tractor such as a model 300B that has ""closed-center hyd system'' one needs to install a closed center control valve similar to photo below. Pressure oil is attained by teeing in behind pressure control valve on RH side of tractor. & routing return oil to a ported filter cover.

That s great information and I understand the concept. But I also realize that it s probably more than my mechanical abilities can do. Any idea what it would cost to have someone do this for me? Ball park?

Is the loader a John Deere or off brand. If it didn't come off a John Deere, you will have to graft it on. There are loader control valves such as Cross that close
center plugs are available for them unless these have gone out of style.

It s a JD loader. But it s just the loader and bucket. No control valve or lever kit.

Surplus Center or Bailey Hyds are 2 places that sell hyd control valves. Closed center conversion plug is encircled in green. Ported hyd filter cover is part # L55982

Hello Triple welcome to YT! I am sure no one here
wants to estimate what someone else will charge you
to do this. A real ..spit ball.. range is $800 to $1500.
The best thing for you to do is get an estimated price
from the party you plan to do the job for you.

Just because it is a John Deere loader DOES NOT mean it will physically fit without modification or building special mounting brackets. Different model loaders were designed to fit different tractors and the beyond that a given model loader may have had several different sets of tractor side mounts to fit different tractor models. Do you know what model loader it is and what tractor it was taken off from? Did you get the tractor side mounts with the loader? Fit as well as the hydraulic parts will add to the cost of mounting it.

Just an extra note. If you are going to select a control valve for the loader you are considering, you might be wise to select one that is 30 gpm capacity as well
as having close center plug available. 300b may be equipped with a 28 gpm pump or it may just have a 13 gpm. When I was selling and mounting loaders for tractors,
I used Cross or Gresen. They were reasonably priced back then.

Thank you for your response. I m gonna go look at the loader today and see exactly what model it is and research mounting brackets for it. It s already looking to be pretty expensive and might not be worth it.

Infinitely controlling(feathering) a frt end loader with a valve designed 30 GPM on a tractor with a hyd pump of 13 GPM ill be very difficult to accomplish

I think I have it all figured out. But I have no idea how to find the mounting brackets for this tractor. Any suggestions?

Mounting brackets to fit a specific loader to a specific old tractor are just about the hardest thing to find.

The manufacturer no longer makes them.

If a set is laying in a pile in the back of a dealer's stock room, good luck finding them. The dealer doesn't even know they have them. Even if you did find them you would probably not like the price.

The only place you're going to find brackets is on the same model/series tractor with the same model loader mounted. In those cases it is unlikely that the seller is going to want to split up the set. They end up with a tractor and a loader and no way to put them together.

Unless you can fabricate your own brackets you're best off buying a loader that came off the same model tractor you're trying to install it on.

I have often wondered about all the used tractors for sale with the loader frames and no loader . Almost as daft as those selling a loader without the mounting frame .

He still hasn't even said if it is a John Deere loader, much less what model, and what it is being taken off from. So, who knows if those mounts will work without modification. And he may need the tractor side reinforcing plates as well.

I know a guy that kept the mounts when he sold his loader, he didn't use, because he used the mounts to stand on while fueling. We got them from him for a loader we picked up by making him a step/platform to take the place of the loader mounts on both sides as a swap.
