hydraulic coupler holders

The other day there was a post about a bracket to hold the couplers so you could connect them and they could disconnect if something came unhitched so it would not pull the hoses apart. I can't seem to find it when I went back 6 days on TT and a few days on some of the others. I'm looking for some that are a bit stronger than the tin ones like Shoup has and not aluminum like were shown in the post. Or at least not diecast so they break when you look crosswise at them. Other wise I guess I would have to make something like I want probably.

You might have a problem making something unless you can machine something to fit those collars without crushing them. I tried using some U bolts to hold the ones for the grapple on my loader and just a little bit of over tightening and they bound up. The aluminum ones work just fine. I've never broken one. I never had the couplers slip out of one of the tin ones, but I've had them break by the bolts.

Breakaway couplers, and you're not going to find anything commercially available other than the "tin" ones you don't like.

Modern tractors all come with breakaway couplers from the factory, as it's a safety issue now so there's not a lot of market for the aftermarket.

I guess you could find yourself some breakaway couplers off of an IH 66/86/88 series. Hopefully ones that have been converted to Pioneer. They are a bit more robust than the "tin" ones and aren't the "cast" ones you also don't like.

We had pioneer couplers with short hoses to the tractor, the couplers were clamped and bolted so you just pulled the hoses towards you to hook up the cylinder. It also kept you from pulling the plumbing out of the tractor if you lost your implement. Its still a pain to rehook when you have pressure on the cylinder, but better than a trip to the hose shop. I just couldnt get dad to buy some hair pins to keep the hitch pins from working out .

I think you'd need the couplers where the sleeve works in both directions if you want the breakaway function. Pioneer makes both types. They look about the same but have a different number.

Breakaway clamps work with both kinds, the ones that you just pull or the push pull. I highly recommend the push pull. One set on my 2-135 is pull only. The hoses are short and it's all but impossible to get them hooked up for the wings on the disc.

I used a U-clamp on my 1030 because the commercial ones didn't wok well. I just got a muffler clamp that fit and drilled holes in the original tractor bracket and bolted them on. Works very well

Why not use these, from the Oliver 55 series.

Green pics are my son's Oliver 1800c we upgraded to the 55 series, got these parts from Justin Meyer, over in Oliver parts section here.
From MN, awesome help.
Put the top line pioneer couplers, have nipple inside instead of the metal ball.
There's also a keeper behind the cast, that Bailey upgraded from Maibach, it is heavier made, and makes a big difference in keeping the coupler in the cast housing, these are better to deal with than the stock setup we have on 2_155, and my 2-110. br>They uncouple under pressure easier.
Not a cheap setup. GG Wes
