I have been a tractor collector and enthusiast for almost 50 years. During that time I've saved most of the copies of magazines that I have
subscribed to, but now at age 79 I realize that it's time to let someone else enjoy them. Mostly Green Magazine, Two-Cylinder, and Antique
Power. I would like to get some value out of them, but having someone else enjoy them is more important to me. Give me some ideas about how
to resolve the problem.

I just gave 25 years worth of Double Gun Journals in pristine condition to an old friend for free. He loves and worships doubles. The light in his eyes was worth far more than a check for $50 from some collector/ reseller.

Had one of our club members bring some of his magazines into the local Seniors Ctr. reading and Book area.

Public libraries not much help. At best they may have a used book sale. Otherwise everything goes into the recycling dumpster. Even their stuff.

I give my magazines to an elementary school teacher
every year. She said the kids really like them and
encourages them to read.

Unfortunately, there is little to no demand for these magazines. I have seen them bundled in groups of 12 and priced at $1.00 but no interest. Nursing or Retirement Homes are best places for them.

Nice collection, I'm sure they brought you joy in their time. Unfortunately there's not all that much demand or value, at least that's what I observed at a ton of tractor shows. I have several (Green Magazine) left from when I wrote electrical articles for them and Im sure my kids will toss them lol

(quoted from post at 17:52:58 08/25/22) Ask your local JD group first, then local/regional Libraries. Jim

They're already up to their eyeballs in donated paper media. What they will typically do is thank you kindly for your donation, then huff it straight in the recycle dumpster as soon as you're out of sight.

I put out a stack of magazines for free at a show one time. Somehow when I went to go home the pile was twice as big.

You are free to try, but just don't be disappointed if nobody wants them.

I take a stack with me any time I go to the doctor or dentist...

The audience for those magazines is very very limited, but try to concentrate on that small group of tractor collectors and enthusiasts. Contact your local tractor collector clubs and see if you can put an ad in their newsletter that the magazines are free. They might even run your ad free of charge.

If any are moldy or smell musty they could be a health hazard, BTDT. Just pitch the musty ones into the recycling bin.

Very few- especially the Playboys!

The large format, heavily illustrated National Geographic History magazines are the most popular by far, then automotive, then antique tractor/engine magazines.
Luckily, I only have to go there every 6 months or so at most, so theyre always ready for another stack of golf-free, non Oprahcentric reading material.

Warbaby .... maybe one of the best movies ever, that chick he hooked up with was WILD! LaVonda right? Even Uncle Rico made out OK I think. Vote for Pedro .... ha! The last scene with Napoleon and his cutie girl friend really made for a great ending. Ever watch Nacho Libre? Another classic !!!

Every family subscribed, FALSE. Never knew of anybody that did. We never did and I have seen very few of them. Actually did not interest me.

John T I always liked your articals and have many of them. I am just about 79 and time to get rid of them. There are 3 shows that have traiding posts and you never see them last very long there, first couple of days and gone, sold. I did not think about things soon enough or I would have had over a hundred of Antique Power, Farm colector, Green and 2 Cylinder plus some IHC and Ford. Just don't price them sky high and if all don't sell take back home till next show.

I actually meant the ''...large format, heavily illustrated National Geographic History magazine'', not the small format, National Geographic magazine.

''History'', is an off-shoot periodical from Nat. Geo. that focuses exclusively on human history through the lenses of Archeology and Anthropology.

Its worth subscribing g to if just for the pictures!

I had Toy Farmer and Antique Power magazines going back to 1990. I tried to sell them on ebay with no luck at all. After 30 days they only had two or three views. Also 12 issues are very heavy which makes shipping them expensive. The magazines all went in the dumpster.

I also had a collection of John Deere calendars from when we had a local dealer. I listed the calendars on ebay individually. Only sold the one with country church photos.

There is an old folks home in a nearby small town that is mostly inhabited by old farmers. I donated a hundred or so old gas Engine and Farm Collector magazines and they did everything but fight each other to go through the stack when I arrived. Made for a really good feeling as there was a lot of material there that they were going to enjoy and I was really tickled I took them there. The last thing I would think of would be to try to get money for those old things.
