As I open my shed doors I think to myself--How much vintage John Deere machinery is too much--How many pieces do you see???

Never too much in my mind. At the end of the day regardless of the color I would not mind having most models of equipment.

I had a couple of lifelong bachelor uncles who farmed together.

They were all John Deere. They wouldn't even own any short line equipment. If John Deere didn't make it, they didn't need it.

Depends on what you can afford. Do you have enough drivers to keep them all in use, or are you collecting them? Seventy years ago it was a sales and marketing department dream that farmers needed one tractor for every implement rather than one tractor for each driver.

Do not worry. The old stuff will be working when the new stuff dies in the field. I can do just fine with with anything 55 series and before. Just my comfort zone with equipment. Easy to fix, maintain and work with.

Yesterday, after you posted pictures of your pulling tractor, I thought I might be just a little envious of you....today I know I am!

Looks good.
Is there such a thing as having too much?
You have too much if you don't have room inside your pole barn.
